A Tribute of Thanks — For a Life Well Lived, and a Community That Carried Us

In August 2025, we lost our girl Jippi.

She was 15 years old—a Boston Terrier (probably pit) mix, smart and sweet, with strong opinions and quiet habits. We’d had her since she was just 8 weeks old. She loved going for walks and basking in the sun, and she absolutely hated the cold. She was camera-shy, always turning her head at the last second—so truly good photos were rare. She didn’t seek out attention and almost never made a sound, except for the soft bark she used to wake us in the night when she needed to go out.

We didn’t know about Fast CAT when she was in her prime—but had we, I know it would have lit her up. Running was when she came alive. We used to take our golf cart down by the river and let her loose, and that was when you saw the real Jippi—ears flying, eyes bright, every part of her focused and free. It was one of the only times I remember her barking—not to get attention, but because she couldn’t hold in the joy.

If you're part of Fast CAT, you’ve probably seen that spark in your own dogs—that pure, unfiltered excitement when they get to do the thing they were made for. That’s who this scholarship is for: the clubs just getting started, and the dogs who come alive when they run.

In her final months, Jippi faced a lot—arthritis, a fast-growing tumor, and ultimately, heart failure. While we were away at the 4-H fair in early August, her condition worsened suddenly, and we were faced with the decision every pet owner dreads. It was unexpected. It was heartbreaking. And we’re still trying to find our footing in the space she left behind.  

Through all of it, this rosette-making community quietly held me up. Your messages, your kindness, your stories, your photos, your support—it meant more than you’ll ever know.  Because of this community, we even have a new Boston Terrier in our lives—sweet Nori—brought to us through the same love that’s carried us through the hardest days  Jippi was by my side for every order, every kit, every late night in the studio. She was part of all of it. So it only feels right to carry her legacy forward in a way that gives back.

About the Jippi Scholarship

The Jippi Scholarship is a one-time award of Thirty 30 fully finished, blinged-out Fast CAT rosettes  designed for a new or early-stage Fast CAT club or organization.

This scholarship is intended to support clubs in their first or second year of holding trials—clubs that are working hard to grow their programs and bring joy to their communities, even if they don’t yet have a big budget.

We want to help you make a bold, beautiful first impression—just like the kind of impact Jippi had without ever trying.

What’s Included

- Blinged-out - thematic styling, featuring sparkle, foil, color, and standout design elements that capture attention

- Display-ready quality for your trial awards table

- Shipping included, scheduled to arrive before your trial date

- Design collaboration is welcome, and we’ll do our best to reflect your event’s tone and colors—but final creative direction will remain with us. If your event requires strict adherence to specific colors, themes, or layouts, this may not be the right fit.

Who Can Apply

You’re eligible if:

- Your organization is hosting its first or second Fast CAT trial season

- Your event is scheduled within the next 6–12 months. 

- You’re based in the United States

- You’re able to provide basic information about your club, event, and audience

- You support fair play, kindness, and community in the sport

Timeline

- Applications Open: Now

- Deadline to Apply: February 1, 2026

- Recipient Announced: February 15, 2026

- Rosette Delivery Target: Based on event date - Must be after March 2026   Shipping must happen before 12/12/26.  Cancellation of the event will mean that we pick another recipient.

How the Recipient is Chosen

Applications will be reviewed by a small panel that includes:

- The team at Vivid Award Studios

- A representative from Jippi's Family

- A longtime client or leader from the Fast CAT community (rotating)

We will consider the following:

- Clarity and passion in your application

- Your club’s potential community impact

- Your plans for growth and sustainability

- Whether we feel the rosettes would make a meaningful difference to your event
